    About the role

    Medical Panels has a critical role in the WorkCover dispute resolution process.

    An individually constituted Medical Panel consists of Members who are medical practitioners appointed by the Governor in Council who are selected by the Convenor or Deputy Convenor and are required to provide procedurally fair, timely opinions and reasons in relation to medical questions referred pursuant to the Accident Compensation Act and the Wrongs Act.

    Referrals can be made by the Accident Compensation Conciliation Service, the Courts, WorkCover agents, and self-insurers.  The opinions of Medical Panels consist of the Convenor, two Deputy Convenors and employees provided by WorkSafe Victoria to support the operations of the organisation.

    Reporting to the Registrar, this role is responsible for the provision of efficient and effective administration support to ensure the proper functioning of Medical Panels.

    About you

    You are an experienced Administration Officer ideally gained within legal or medical background. You have strong interpersonal skills with an ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders. You will also possess:

    • Excellent time management and organisational skills
    • Previous experience handling sensitive correspondence
    • Demonstrated eye for detail with a high level of accuracy
    • Legislative knowledge will be highly regarded
